Non-duality and its enlightening understanding has been the biggest surprise and gift in my life.
If you told me that by building a wisdom well, by transforming my inner obstacles and sending buckets down within myself in search of wisdom that I would find the true non dual self, I wouldn’t of even understood what you meant.
But that’s exactly what the waters of wisdom showed me and can show us all.
Drink the water of non dual wisdom
We look into the reflective surface of wisdom, and by grace, we see the Self looking back.
I wasn’t searching for self-realization, I was simply looking for answers to the questions burning in my heart, questions like “What is the meaning of life?” and “What is my purpose?” and “Is God real?” and “What happens after we die?” These were painful, obsessive questions that I couldn’t shake.
And I was also desperately seeking ways to just cope with a difficult life.
My intuition was strong, but I didn’t want to trust only my gut empath intuition. I didn’t want to hope or believe, I wanted to know the answers for myself, and be sure. Perhaps you can relate?
When wisdom eventually told me that I shouldn’t ask the question, “What must I do?” That I should rather ask “Who am I?” — I had no idea that this was the question that would change everything!
But I was desperate enough to look for an honest answer.
My answer was that I had no idea who I was. 30 years later, the answer, the true self unveiled itself with love and fierce grace.
Imagine the next surprise, when what had always felt like a very lonely path of seeking, was met by the realization that what I’d found was universally known. That when we find the waters of wisdom in our wisdom well, we find what’s common not what’s different, we find the same self, the same water that’s beneath all apparent separate wells.
The Same Self
The ancient teachings of Advaita Vedanta helped me put the final pieces of the self puzzle together, and that is where I learned the term non-duality. Imagine my gratitude, when the study of Advaita gave me the confirmation that I needed to surrender, to rest in the truth of our shared self.
So it is my great joy to offer non dual teachings, Advaita (Sanskrit word for non dual) in a style that is called the Direct Path, because it’s taught as a directly available experience, a knowing that we can confirm and realize for ourselves, rather than needing to hope or believe.
What I’ve learned is that enlightenment doesn’t belong only to beautiful sages and saints, living in caves wearing robes, enlightenment belongs in boardrooms and hospitals, and kitchens and temples.
And sometimes enlightenment wears lipstick
Yes there’s no individual person to claim enlightenment, it is a movement of love as life, illuminated simply by the understanding of the shared true self.
I offer monthly online classes, non-duality teachings, with support materials in the form of non dual meditations and mindfulness practices that can be easily woven into daily life.
Let’s work together to help your mind, heart and body to really get what non-duality is, instead of it being conceptual and abstract, I want you to know who you are in your bones.
I show my students how to use their natural intuition to experience the self that they already are and to discern the false separate self from the true non dual self.
